Sue and Rich Hindle supply "The Gallery" with fair trade jewellery made in India. They make two or three trips to India each year, choosing each stone themselves and overseeing the setting of each piece. Because of the close working relationship with the artisans they can ensure that working conditions are good and a fair wage is paid.

The Indian craftsmen work in a large modern factory in a comfortable environment with good light and air conditioning. The factory is run in a Western way with strict safety procedures. Training is provided in the factory and care is taken with employee happiness with jobs guaranteed. There is certainly no child labour.

The word "Padma" means purity and Sue and Rich have been lucky enough to find reliable, talented craftsmen to work with and have been able to source stones of superb quality and silver of 99.9% purity. These factors enable us to exhibit jewellery of the highest quality and originality.
